Mšeno: Hotels and Accommodations

Mšeno combines a distinctive circular route with a characteristic townscape. The Cinibulkova Trail leads through the Bludiště rock labyrinth. As an educational trail, it starts at the Městské lázně in Mšeno and returns to Mšeno after a 9 km circular route; the walk takes approximately three hours.

Nature

The Mšenské Pokličky, a distinctive geological formation area, are located near the Cinibulkova Trail.

Recreation

The Městské lázně in Mšeno are an Art Deco building constructed in 1932. They serve as a place for recreation; their water from a rock spring also provides cooling even in the hottest summer.

Townscape

Numerous two-storey log and half-timbered houses have been preserved in Mšeno to this day, particularly on the outskirts of the town. The late Classicist and historicist row architecture continues to shape the appearance of Mšeno’s most important urban spaces.

The complex of St. Martin’s Church is located on a low rise in the middle of the sloping triangular Komenského náměstí, opposite the deanery building. St. Martin’s Church was originally fortified. Its complex included a surrounding wall, bastions, a gate with a drawbridge, and a moat; remnants of the wall still survive today.

The Mšeno Tourist Information Centre is located in the library in the town hall at nám. Míru 1. It offers tourist information, maps, and regional publications.

Surroundings

Starý Berštejn, a ruin, is located in the surroundings of Mšeno. The mountains of Nedvězí [Dubá-Dražejov], Hořice, and Berkovský vrch are also located in the area.

The wider regional surroundings of Mšeno include Lysá mountain, Zámek Ostrov castle, and the churches of U Svatého Vojtěcha and Svatý Jiří.
