Košice U Nepoměřic: Hotels and Accommodation

The originally Romanesque church “Kostel Narození Panny Marie” shows that Košice was a parish village by the middle of the 13th century at the latest. The first written mention of Košice dates from 1287; in 1320, the local nobleman Budislav z Košic is mentioned.

The original early Gothic structure of the church includes a rectangular nave and a rectangular chancel with a cross vault. Two historic bells from 1475 and 1492 are located in the bell chamber. A date on the late Gothic pointed-arch portal dates the construction of the church tower to 1563. The last major renovation took place in the 1820s; a sacristy was added and the entire church building was re-roofed.

Of the numerous ponds originally found in Košice, only the pond in the centre of the village, on the village green, remains today.

As part of a restoration project, the access stairs were adapted to make the bell chamber of the church “Kostel Narození Panny Marie” accessible. As part of the event “Dnů evropského dědictví 2012”, a guided tour of the church with expert commentary took place in Košice.

Regular meetings to make ceramics are held at KC Košice, including a meeting on the theme of fauna and flora on 9 January 2024. At the 5th charity market “KOLÁČ PRO KOSTEL V KOŠICÍCH”, a competition for bakers to make the best traditional koláč took place on 8 September 2018.
