Suchdol: Hotels and Accommodations

The Renaissance reconstruction of Suchdol Chateau is considered the first known Renaissance expression in the wider area around Kolín. In Suchdol, the Church of St. Margaret has an Early Gothic core dating from the second half of the 13th century.

Culture

The Church of St. Margaret houses a bell made by the Kutná Hora bell founder Jakub Ptáček in 1512 or 1522. It was recast in 1883 by the Brno bell founder Weber.

The ruins of the Belveder in Vysoká combine a pleasure building, a chapel, a hermitage, and a venue for lavish Baroque festivities in one area. The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was also built in Vysoká in the last third of the 13th century. In 2020, wall paintings from three periods were uncovered in its chancel.

The Church of St. Bartholomew in Solopysky was built shortly before 1352. The tower and part of the western façade have survived from the original church. The nave and chancel are covered with rich frescoes from 1752 depicting the legend of Saint Bartholomew.
