Kostelní Lhota: Hotels and accommodations
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the only cultural monument in Kostelní Lhota. After the fire in Kostelní Lhota on April 17, 1813, it was rebuilt between 1815 and 1817 in the late Baroque style by the master builder J. Braun. The stone cross by the church was erected in front of the church in 1894.
Cycling and landscape
Cycling route 8240 passes through Kostelní Lhota and leads via Poděbrady, Písková Lhota, and Sadská. The Lhotecká cycling trail includes a 1.4 km section from Písková Lhota to Kostelní Lhota and a 1.5 km section from Kostelní Lhota to Sadská.
The avenue of linden trees received the “Hero Tree” award from the regional jury. In the vicinity of Kostelní Lhota, the Výrovka spring is also located on cycling route 0124 between Kostelní Lhota and Hořátev, directly on the stream of the same name. It is a publicly accessible mineral water borehole and can be easily reached on foot or by bicycle from the surrounding area.
Events
Christmas concerts are held in the church and organized by the municipality with the participation of pupils from the local primary and kindergarten school. Staročeské máje is considered an annual traditional festival in Kostelní Lhota. Lhotecký masopust has been held every three years since 2014.
The fishing competitions at Peklo Pond were held for the 13th time in the recent history of the local fishing community.
Regional cuisine
The Otevírání Svatomartinských vín event mainly presents regional wines from the Kutná Hora area. Freshly baked geese and homemade Lhota cheese are also offered there.
