Žitovlice: Hotels and accommodations

Žitovlice and Pojedy are situated in a gently rolling landscape between Rožďalovice and Křinec. The Doubravanský stream flows through both villages from north to south; its water feeds the Žitovlický pond and the Pojedský pond. North of the elevation with the church lies the Žitovlický pond, which together with it forms a unique landscape composition.

Culture and village character

The Church of Saint Wenceslas in Žitovlice is a late Baroque building constructed between 1769 and 1772 and restored in 1863. It includes an enclosed area with a former cemetery and damaged gravestones. Žitovlice is first documented historically in 1352.

Pojedy preserves single-storey log buildings from the late 18th and early 19th centuries, as well as brick houses dating from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. A smithy from the late 18th century stands in the centre of the village green. The listed rural homestead No. 36 probably dates from the first half of the 19th century. It is an almost intact example of rural log construction and an important part of the historic village character.
