The origins of Loket are connected with the colonization of Svatavina Újezd; the village is dated to the year 1352.

History

The name of the village may have been derived from an earlier elbow-shaped curved road. Above Loket stands the “Dolejší” cross, erected in memory of Václav Moravec. A fourth local cross was erected by Jan Turek, and a fifth by the Bejček family in honour and praise of God.

The names of those who fell in the First World War are recorded on Loket’s war memorial. The former fortress of Všebořice survived after the Thirty Years’ War only as a ruin. The “Spálenkův” cross was erected in memory of František and commemorates a man who was caught under the wheels of a cart pulled by a frightened bull and died.
