Culture and History

As part of its exhibition, Růžkovy Lhotice Castle offers educational programmes and guided tours with commentary. The “Kraj tónů” exhibition covers the musical history of the Podblanicko region and recalls, among other things, Bedřich Smetana’s stay in Růžkovy Lhotice from 1835 to 1843. Růžkovy Lhotice Castle was opened to the public in 1984 with the “Hudební tradice Podblanicka” exhibition; in 2014, the new “Kraj tónů” exhibition was opened there.

Lhotice also has deep historical roots: a fortress is documented there as early as 1363.

Nature

The nearby Rybníček u Studeného nature monument is known for its rich populations of bog arum (Calla palustris).
