Zvěstov: Hotels and Accommodations

Zvěstov Castle brings together several clearly recognizable construction phases: it contains a Gothic fortress that was later rebuilt in the Renaissance style and altered in the 19th century in the Historicist style. The southern façade retains, above all, remnants of Renaissance sgraffito.

Culture and History

The Zvěstov manor fortress probably originated around the middle of the 14th century. Zvěstov Castle was roofed over in 2021–2023; during this work, the original roof structure was restored above the surviving part.

The Loreta church is also located in the vicinity of Zvěstov. In the wider region around Zvěstov are Konopiště, a castle, and Svatý Jan, a church.

Nature

The northeastern part of the Zvěstov municipal area extends into the Blaník Protected Landscape Area. The Zvěstov municipal area is also touched by the EVL Sedlečský potok Natura 2000 site.

South of Zvěstov, the Roudný–Blaník educational trail is a 4.5 km circular route for hikes of moderate difficulty. With two short branches, it offers 15 stops.

In the vicinity of Zvěstov are Velký Blaník, a mountain, and Žebrák, a mountain. The nearby area also includes the hills Vinná hora [Šebířov-Křekovice u Vyšetic] and Skrýšov [Jankov].
