Otročiněves: Hotels and accommodations

Otročiněves lies at the foot of the 609-metre-high Krušná hora; the Habrový potok stream flows through the village.

History and cultural heritage

The first written mention of Otročiněves dates from 1005. Most of the village belonged to the Křivoklát estate.

A chapel dedicated to Saint John the Baptist is said to have been built on Velíz around 1005. Guards from Otročiněves were assigned to the chapel on Velíz.

Charcoal burning in the forests of Křivoklátsko, together with iron ore mining, contributed to the development of the local iron industry. Iron ore mining on Krušná hora was part of the historical development of the local iron industry and was discontinued in 1964.

Traditions and events

The “Otevírání studánek” tradition was revived in Otročiněves in 2024 and held for the second consecutive year in 2025.

The traditional “Pochod na Děd” featured various activity stations for children and parents along the route; the destination was the Děd lookout tower. The traditional “Dýňování” included competitions and a bravery trail and ended with roasting sausages.

Landscape and cycling routes

Cycling route No. 0053 (“Pod Kolnou–Otročiněves”) runs along road III/2367 towards Nový Jáchymov. Route 0054 (“Žloukovice–Hudlice”) passes through the historic part of Otročiněves. The “Přes Krušnou horu na zámek Nižbor” cycling tour also passes through Otročiněves.

Public transport

Regional bus line 637 serves four stops in Otročiněves: Krušná Hora, Na Drahách, náves and I, and connects the village with Kublov and Beroun.
