Jivina: Hotels and accommodations

Jivina lies at an elevation of 485–525 m. From the edge of the village, the “Přes Jivinu za podbrdskými roubenkami” hiking trail leads to Jivinská hora.

Nature and trails

Jivinská hora has two peaks. The forested peak offers a good view of Jivina and the surrounding area. A yellow-marked hiking trail also runs through Jivina.

History

The first written mention of Jivina dates from 1368. In the same year, Zbyněk Zajíc of Valdek donated half of the village of Jivina to the Svatá Dobrotivá Monastery. The other part of Jivina came into the possession of the Lobkowicz family in 1537 and remained under their rule until 1848.

Village character and transport connections

The chapel in Jivina stands on elevated ground in the southeastern part of the village. There is a cast-iron cross next to the chapel. Jivina’s volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1923 and remains active to this day. Jivina is served by bus connections.
