Petrovice: Hotels and accommodations
The Petrovicko educational trail begins and ends in Petrovice. It is just under 27 km long and has 20 information panels; part of the educational trail is also accessible to cyclists.
Trails
The Petrovická Trail leads from Petrovice via Hodětín Mountain to the Kuníček lookout tower. It includes a stone Stations of the Cross trail connecting Kuní, Kuníček, and Rybníček.
Orientation
The Kuníček lookout tower is 60.02 m high. Its upper observation platform is 36.6 m above the ground. The tower near Petrovice was opened to the public on June 28, 2003.
Nature
The Vrškámen natural monument lies about 500 m east-southeast of the center of Petrovice. Husova kazatelna is a protected natural monument in the forests near Petrovice and the largest balancing rock in the Czech Republic. It can be reached via an accessible tourist trail; from the road, the access route continues for more than 250 m.
Culture
The Church of Saints Peter and Paul complex comprises the parish church, the stone cemetery wall, and the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk built onto the outside of its western section. The complex is located at the northeastern corner of Petrovice’s square. The original medieval Church of Saints Peter and Paul was remodeled in the Baroque style in the 18th century under Jesuit influence.
The Petrovice château grounds are classified as a cultural monument. The main building of Petrovice Château, also called “Panský dům,” stands on the site of an older medieval fortress. Its origins date back to the 14th century, and the first written mention dates from 1489.
