Krepenice: Hotels and Accommodation

The protected components of Jakub Krčín’s fortress complex include the main building of the fortress, the northwestern building with its gate, the southwestern and southeastern buildings, the so-called sheepfold, the surrounding wall with the eastern gate, the northern utility building, the access bridge, and all plots within the complex. The Krčín Fortress retains a surrounding wall, two gates, and three tower-like corner bastions. Its central palace contains remnants of original wall paintings with mythological themes.

Křepenice is mentioned in a deed of donation dated 1045 for Břevnov Monastery, which is described as a 13th-century forgery. The chapel bell tower in Křepenice has a ground plan in the shape of half an irregular octagon. The privately owned Krčín Fortress can be visited by arrangement with the owners.

Cycle Route 301 connects Křepenice with Krásná Hora nad Vltavou and is 23 km long. Cycle Route 8132 runs from Vojkov to Křepenice.

Forests cover 30 % of the area of Křepenice. Nearby, the Drbákov-Albertovy skály educational trail is seven kilometres long and has 11 stops with views of the Vltava Valley. The hills of Libešov offer a beautiful view of Křepenice and the surrounding area.

A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Křepenice. A blue-marked hiking route leads from the Krčín Fortress to the edge of the 61-hectare protected area of the Drbákov–Albertovy skály National Nature Reserve in less than three kilometres.
