Water and spa

The Boček mineral spring is located in the Libenského Colonnade. Another waterside attraction is Poděbrady Lake, a sandy lake with grassy areas near the center of Poděbrady. There is a rental service for rowboats and pedal boats. In addition, a paddleboard rental service offers a wide selection of boards for beginners and advanced users.

Visitors can take a scenic trip on the “Král Jiří” excursion boat.

Culture and history

The permanent exhibition “Příběh Polabí” at the Polabské Museum in Poděbrady explores life in the Bronze Age, the Roman period, and the Migration Period in the Elbe lowlands. At the same museum, visitors can mint a souvenir in the form of a denarius and, in the play area, try grinding grain with prehistoric mills and drilling into the head of a stone axe.

The Poděbrady flower clock dates from 1936. Using seedlings, it shows not only the time but also the current date. The Film Legends Museum is located directly in the city center.

Poděbrady Castle developed from an early Gothic castle built in the second half of the 13th century. The castle houses a monument to King George of Poděbrady as well as exhibitions about his life and legacy. The Památník krále Jiřího z Poděbrad is located in the oldest part of the medieval castle of Poděbrady.

The program of the Ludvík Kuba Gallery in Poděbrady includes art exhibitions as well as the guided commentary tour “Na Rozcestí” with Adam Jílek.

Parks and trails

The Lázeňský park in Poděbrady is the center of the local spa facilities and invites visitors to take a stroll. Visitors can walk through the Lázeňský park.

The Elbe Cycle Route from Kolín to Poděbrady runs along the Elbe and Cidlina rivers and ends at the spa promenade in Poděbrady. The relevant section of the Elbe Cycle Route is suitable for inline skaters and family outings.
