Porící Nad Sázavou: Hotels and accommodations

The stone bridge in Poříčí nad Sázavou crosses the Sázava. Its five segmental arches have a span of 18.3 meters and a rise of 2.5 meters.

Culture and history

The stone bridge in Poříčí was built in 1849–1850. It replaced a wooden bridge that had been destroyed by a flood.

The Church of St. Gallus is located directly on the bank of the Sázava and is surrounded by a small cemetery. It was built around 1225. Its underground crypt is one of four crypts of the same age and type preserved in their original form in Bohemia.

The Church of St. Peter in Poříčí nad Sázavou is also one of the most remarkable Romanesque buildings in the Czech Republic. Figurative paintings in its apse were discovered in 1914, fully uncovered in 1935, and restored by František Fišer.

The Battle of Poříčí nad Sázavou took place on the night of May 19–20, 1420. It was significant for reconstructing the campaign of the Taborites to support Prague, which was threatened by Sigismund.

Getting around

Cycle Route No. 19 runs through Poříčí nad Sázavou along the Havlíčkův Brod–Sázava–Čerčany–Poříčí nad Sázavou–Týnec nad Sázavou–Davle route. A specific route is the easy cycling tour “From Týnec to Zbořený Kostelec and Poříčí,” which is 20 kilometers long.

Poříčí nad Sázavou is served by bus connections in the direction of Benešov–Vlašim and Prague. There are also train connections from Poříčí nad Sázavou to Čerčany and via Vrané nad Vltavou to Prague.
