Vracovice: Hotels and Accommodations

Part of the cadastral area of Vracovice lies within the Blaník Protected Landscape Area. The Částrovické rybníky protected area is located 1 kilometer southeast of Vracovice.

Nature

The Částrovické rybníky consist of three smaller ponds and wet meadows in a shallow valley along the Částrovický stream. The wet meadows are home to protected plant species such as the broad-leaved marsh orchid and bogbean.

The Machlov Pond is part of the Částrovické rybníky natural monument in the Blaník Protected Landscape Area. Today, it is considered an important natural area with a species-rich community of plants and animals. The project to restore Machlov Pond, carried out in coordination with the municipality of Vracovice, included desilting the pond, repairing the dam, and fully restoring the pond ecosystem.

Culture and History

The chapel in Vracovice is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. During its reconstruction from 1980 to 1984, the ceiling was raised, and a choir and tower were built; as a result, the original chapel was transformed into a small church.

A memorial plaque commemorating those who fell in the First World War is located on the chapel wall on the village green in Vracovice.

Cycling

The approximately 25-kilometer-long “In the Footsteps of the Blaník Knights” cycle route passes through Vracovice. It has six rest stops with information boards and runs along forest and field paths as well as, in part, roads with light traffic.

Vracovice is one of the municipalities that, together with other places and Kraj blanických rytířů, z. s., organizes the annual “Blanický cyklorytíř” cycling event. The event traditionally opens the cycling season.
