Račice: Hotels and Accommodation

Račice is situated on a slope on the right bank of the Berounka, in a landscape typical of the Křivoklátsko region.

Nature

Rare woodland orchids grow in the forests around the Žloukava stream. In the Pustá seč area, extensively mown meadows from the lowlands to the uplands are protected. The mesophilous tall oat-grass meadows in Pustá seč are home to numerous protected and endangered plant species.

History and Points of Interest

Račice was first mentioned in 1556, when four potters founded the settlement. The four potters who founded the settlement were required to deliver 12 pots and 12 lamps to Křivoklát Castle every week.

Račice’s points of interest include the Boží muka wayside shrine in the village square, the remains of a medieval settlement in the Stříbrné údolí area, and the former princely forester’s lodge at Kolouch.

Trails and Railways

Račice can be reached on foot via a yellow-marked hiking trail. The 2026 timetable lists Račice nad Berounkou as a stop on railway line 174 between Rakovník and Beroun.
