Nezabudice: Hotels and Accommodation

The Nezabudické skály Nature Reserve lies on a steep south-facing slope above the Berounka.

Nature

The nature reserve protects rocky slopes with a highly diverse reptile fauna, including green lizards and smooth snakes. Access is limited to marked hiking trails along the northern and southern boundaries; a road runs along the southern boundary.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Lawrence stands in a prominent position above the center of Nezabudice, on a low rise next to a former small cemetery. The single-nave building has a polygonal presbytery closed on three sides and a two-storey western tower. It preserves an original Gothic pointed-arch window with coarse two-part stone tracery, now bricked up.

The Jaroslav Franěk Memorial Hall is dedicated to the legionnaire and resistance fighter Jaroslav Franěk, who was born in Nezabudice. U Rozvědčíka is now a popular tourist excursion pub, opened by the resistance fighter in 1934.

Nezabudický Mill is a Baroque mill complex with a core dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, and is known from the stories of the writer Ota Pavel.

Trails and Connections

Nezabudice has a red-marked KČT hiking trail known as the Way of St. James. The Ota Pavel ferry crosses the Berounka from Luh below Branov to Nezabudice.
