Radětice lies in a valley that slopes downward from north to south, at an elevation of 526 metres. To the west, the village is bordered by Babylon Hill, which reaches 547 metres. To the east, Radětice is bordered by Silina Hill; it reaches 548 metres and covers more than 11 hectares.
History
The medieval and modern-era centre of Radětice is classified as an archaeological site in category UAN I. The village layout forms an old Slavic circle; Radětice was first mentioned in writing in 1298. A 13th-century metallurgical workshop focused on iron production was excavated near Radětice.
A 7.5 kg bronze hoard was found on Stráž Hill. East of Silina Hill lies a Slavic burial site from the 9th century, which was archaeologically examined in 1953–1955. Palivcův statek is a former large farm complex, house no. 2, located on a village square with a pond. In the Radětice cadastral area, “V Radětice”, a rural farm complex with house no. 9, is listed.
Surroundings
Příbram is located near Radětice; the town is 8 km away and is home to the pilgrimage site of Svatá Hora, while Radětice has good bus connections to Příbram. The pilgrimage site of Maková Hora is also located near Radětice, on a hill above the municipality of Smolotely. The green-marked hiking trail no. 3064 runs through Radětice along the route U Buku – Palivo – Radětice – Pečice.
