Ratměřice: Hotels and Accommodation

Ratměřice Chateau was built in the Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century. Otto Chotek remodelled it into its neo-Renaissance form, which has been preserved to this day.

Culture

You can admire the distinctive Classical façade of Ratměřice Chateau and stroll through the extensive chateau park. During restoration research, Gothic paintings were uncovered in the chancel of St Havel Church in 2008. A dendrochronological study dated the origin of the church’s roof structure to 1406. The water from the spring in Ratměřice was traditionally believed to have healing properties.

Nature

Two giant sequoias planted by Count Chotek grow in Ratměřice Chateau Park. Twenty-nine conifer species and 60 species of deciduous trees or shrubs have been identified there. The giant sequoias are over 45 m tall, estimated to be around 150 years old, and are considered the largest in the Czech Republic.

Activities

In the vicinity of Ratměřice, a route leads from the Battle of Jankov monument along a gently uphill field path and offers views of Ratměřice and its chateau. The Běhej bojiště Jankov–Zvěstovská route passes through Ratměřice to Dům sedláka Oneše by Jordánek Pond; there are benches for resting both by the pond and at the house. The sports area in Ratměřice includes a football pitch and a nature-inspired children’s playground.
