Rataje: Hotels and Accommodation

Rataje lies in a valley that slopes gently down towards the east, about 5 km from Vlašim. The chapel in Rataje is a cultural monument and a defining landmark of the municipality.

Culture and Community Life

The chapel contains a protected altar as well as a folk nativity scene with around 50 figures of people and animals. Kupsův Blaník was installed in the chapel with the help of other residents; there is also a smaller model of Blaník with knights, folk figures and animals. The Ratajský pohár is a recurring Nohejbal tournament in Rataje.

Landscape and Trails

The tourist routes in Rataje run along existing designated paths as well as field and forest trails. A tourist route from Vlašim towards Želivka and Posázaví passes through Rataje. Below Rataje, the revitalised Ratajský potok stream and its pond offer a place for walks for locals and day-trippers arriving in Rataje via the hiking trail.

The Chapel of St. Anne spring is located on a forest path between Rataje and Trhový Štěpánov, along which a green-marked tourist route runs. The banks of the Ratajský potok are covered with alders, willows and native plant species. Dragonflies and interesting bird species can be observed along the Ratajský potok.

Green spaces and benches have been used to create places for rest and meeting in the centre of Rataje. Information boards for tourists have been installed on the village green in Rataje.

Admission to the Kalamajka observation tower is free. However, the locked tower can only be accessed after borrowing a key from one of the six specified municipal offices, including the municipal office in Rataje.

The nearest railway stop to Rataje is located in Zdislavice. In Rataje, passengers can board a bus at a stop considered safe.
