Rokytovec: Hotels and Accommodation

In Rokytovec, the cultural perspective begins with a theatrical backdrop: it was painted in 1920 and bears the title “Setkání vesničanů s Múzami.”

Culture and History

The theatrical backdrop was created by the academic painter Karel Boháček. Performances by the Rokytovec amateur dramatics group were well attended by locals and people from the surrounding area.

The first written mention of Rokytovec dates back to 1322; Mikota of Rokytovec is named at that time. In 1556, Václav Procek of Cetně had the Rokytovec fortress built. After the fortress lost its significance, it was probably demolished or converted into a granary. A cellar from the former fortress may have survived in the centrally located granary.
