Svinařov: Hotels and Accommodation

The chapel dedicated to Saint Procopius, built in 1870, stands in Svinařov’s village square. Local residents built it, and Alex, Prince of Croÿ, supported its construction. The Holý Cross from 1849 commemorates the end of corvée labor.

The hills of Polanec [Slabce-Modřejovice], Čertový kopec [Slabce-Modřejovice], and Ostrý vrch [Slabce-Modřejovice] lie in the immediate vicinity of Svinařov. The Church of U Svatého Petra is located nearby. The wider regional area includes the ruins of Týřov, Holý vrch mountain, the ruins of Pravda, and the Church of U Svatého Gotharda.

Culture and History

Svinařov was the original center of the Jewish community in the Slabecko area. The prayer room and school of the Jewish community were located in the wooden house in Svinařov; it burned down on May 15, 1866. A ritual bath for Jewish women was established in Svinařov in accordance with the regulations of the Jewish religion.

The historic Modřovská pěšina led to Svinařov and was maintained to shorten the route for people and carts performing corvée labor for the Zhoř estate. The historic Pěšina zámecká led from Krakovec through the forests of Rousínov and Modřejovice to Slabce; today, a branch of the district road to Svinařov follows part of its route.

The cycling tour to Krakovec is considered easy and suitable for families as well. A cycling tour from Rakovník to Krakovec passes through Panoší Újezd, Slabce, Svinařov, Rousínov, and Zhoř.
