Mutějovice: Hotels and Accommodation

At the northwestern edge of Mutějovice stands House No. 37. It is the last example of older half-timbered architecture in the village.

Culture

Mutějovice is home to a Neoclassical vicarage with a granary and drying shed. The complex of the Church of St. Procopius is a valuable ensemble of Baroque, Neoclassical and 19th-century monuments. The Church of St. Wenceslas is also one of the sights in Mutějovice.

The Hrnčírna Mutějovice Gallery sells traditional and experimental ceramics. At the Hrnčírna Mutějovice workshop, Czech ceramics are fired in wood-fired kilns.

Nature and History

Mutějovice is considered a gateway to the Džbán Nature Park. In the nature park, plains alternate with steep slopes covered with centuries-old beech trees, gorges dozens of metres deep, light marl slopes and escarpments, hop gardens and ponds.

The 6 km circular trail “Džbán pověstí a tajemství” leads from Mutějovice to Džbán Castle. It was probably built in the first half of the 13th century to protect a trade route that led through the Vrata Gorge below the castle.

Routes and Activities

Mutějovice offers opportunities for hiking and cycling. The “Chmel Jsem Česal Já!” cycling route is 35 km long and ends at Mutějovice railway station.

The educational trail to the Kounov stone rows has 11 stops and is 4.3 km long. It begins at a railway crossing about 0.7 km from Mutějovice railway station on the road to Kounov and covers geology, botany, zoology, agriculture and forestry.

In winter, cross-country skiing trails are available around Mutějovice; horseback rides can be arranged in Mutějovice.

Local Flavour

The Poddžbánský pivovar brewery brews traditional Czech lagers that are bottom-fermented, unfiltered and unpasteurized.

Orientation

The Prague–Chomutov railway line and a railway station are located near Mutějovice.
