Slapanov: Hotels and Accommodations
Culture and History
At the northern edge of Šlapánov stands the Church of St. Peter and Paul. It is a filial church and was built before 1258. It was remodeled in the Baroque style in 1733; a prismatic tower was added in 1873, and the church was restored in 1889. Its structure consists of a rectangular nave and a square chancel with a semicircular apse. The chancel preserves an original ribbed vault with unarticulated brick ribs. In the vicinity of Zvěstov, it is one of the excursion destinations.
The settlement center of Šlapánov has been documented since 1318. Šlapánov Fortress was recorded in 1548 as deserted or abandoned; no above-ground remains of it have been identified to date.
The Chapel of St. Wenceslas probably dates from the 18th century. It formerly contained paintings of St. Joseph and St. Anne.
Pilgrimage Route
The 76-kilometer-long fourth stage of the ŘÃp–BlanÃk pilgrimage route runs between Odlochovice, Å lapánov, and Roudný. Within Å lapánov, the pilgrimage route passes the church and leaves the village between ponds.
Landscape
A blue-marked hiking trail leads from Å lapánov beyond the valley and opens up broad views of the landscape west of the BlanÃk ridges.
Å lapánov is located about one kilometer from ZvÄ›stov. On the way from Å lapánov, you reach the boundary of the BlanÃk Protected Landscape Area, which was designated in 1981.
