Nature

In the immediate vicinity of Okřínek is the hill (Skoukal) [Senice]. The surrounding area also includes U Borku Hill [Záhornice u Městce Králové], Hořánck Hill and Kamenec Hill. In the wider regional area around Okřínek lies Kačina Chateau, a castle.

Culture and History

Okřínek was first mentioned in writing in 1790. Originally, the village consisted only of a farm; in the second half of the 19th century, it developed into a municipality. In the village square, in front of the former school building, stands a memorial to the victims of the First World War in Okřínek. There is also a simple stone cross dating from 1902 on the road to Jičín.

Transport

Road I/32 passes through Okřínek and connects the village to the main road network. The bus route 270171 includes the stops Okřínek, Srbce and Okřínek, prodejna.
