Souňov: Hotels and Accommodations

Souňov lies southwest of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands at an altitude of 300 meters. The village is about 10 kilometers from both Čáslav and Kutná Hora; frequent bus services provide connections.

The surroundings of Souňov include a valley, ponds, and adjoining forests, offering opportunities for active recreation. The landscape around Souňov is particularly suitable for hiking. No marked hiking trail passes through Souňov.

The forests around Souňov consist predominantly of spruce and include areas of deciduous and mixed forest. Walks through the forests and wooded slopes, as well as around the ponds near Souňov, are among the local leisure activities.

The bell chapel of Souňov is a 19th-century historicist small building with a square floor plan, a pyramidal roof, and a lantern topped with an onion-shaped dome.

The Souňovský Mill, Nový, Malý mlýn, is located in the cadastral area of Souňov on the Medenický stream, below the dam of a pond created to supply water to the mill. According to the date on a post of the mill structure, it was built in 1671 by Cistercians from the Sedlec Monastery.

The pond above the mill has been used for fish farming and fishing since its reconstruction and revitalization in 2001.

Traditional cultural and sporting events take place in Souňov, including the erection of maypoles, the burning of witches, a children's day, summer sports competitions, St. Nicholas celebrations, and a gathering at the Christmas tree. Souňov's events program for 2026 includes the traditional burning of witches and the erection of maypoles for the villages.
