Sulice: Hotels and Accommodation

Sulice is especially distinctive where viewpoints, memorial sites and traces of older structures come together. A memorial with an observation tower was built on Křížka Hill in 1931. In clear weather, the Křížka viewpoint offers views of Říp, the Brdy Hills, the hills of the Central Bohemian Uplands, the Krkonoše Mountains and the Lusatian Mountains.

Culture and History

The Mandava Memorial on Křížka Hill commemorates a large public assembly held there on 29 September 1419. The memorial can be reached on foot and by bicycle and is suitable as a brief stop during a hiking or cycling tour. The Mandava observation tower is approximately 12 metres high; 44 steps lead to the viewing platform.

Hradiště consists of heavily damaged remnants of the walls of a fortified complex that was the seat of minor nobility from the 13th to the 15th century. The remains lie southeast of the village of Sulice between two ponds. The Hradiště complex is rectangular in shape; the former moat is now shallow and has survived mainly on the southern and western sides. The Sulice fortress was first mentioned in 1386.

Routes and Transport

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Sulice. The western branch of the route from Sulice to Kostelec u Křížků is fully usable and maintained as both a hiking trail and cycle path; a newer parallel footpath also runs along the route.

From 11 May to 31 August 2026, PID lines 335, 337 and 339 will be diverted via Petříkov. The Sulice, Želivec, Mandava stop will be cancelled. In both directions, Sulice, Želivec will be relocated to regular stops of PID line 461 towards Strančice, while Sulice, Na Křížkách will be relocated in the direction of Kamenice to the regular stop of line 335 towards Křížkový Újezdec.
