Tišice is located in the Polabská nížina on the right bank of the Labe. The landscape can be explored along an educational trail and at bodies of water, while archaeological and historical evidence traces the history of the town and its surroundings far back in time.

Nature and Trails

The Písčina u Tišic protected area begins before the railway crossing on the road from Tišice to Kozly and extends for approximately 0.5 kilometres along the railway in the direction of Mlékojedy. The Putování tišickou krajinou educational trail is almost seven kilometres long and follows the bank of the Labe. Thirteen information panels accompany the route, which ends with a quiz. Old floodplain forests along the Labe invite visitors to take long walks.

Water is also part of the local landscape: the lake on the site of a former sand quarry in Tišice is used for swimming in summer. Staré Labe is a former meander of the Labe used for fishing.

History and Culture

Tišice is home to archaeological finds dating back to around 5000 BC. In Kozly stands the Church of All Saints, built in the Early Gothic style in 1352 and protected as a state monument.
