Zajecov: Hotels and Accommodation

Svatá Dobrotivá is an Augustinian monastery in the center of Zaječov. It was founded in 1262 by Oldřich Zajíc z Valdeka. The monastery church of Svatá Dobrotivá contains the Rococo painting “The Plea of the Virgin Mary to Oldřich z Valdeka” on the high altar, completed in 1745 by J. P. Molitor.

Culture and History

A chapel was built in Upper Zaječov before the year 1800; original wooden buildings with vernacular architecture have been preserved there. The 52nd Battalion of the Technical Auxiliary Troops included a company consisting mainly of members of religious orders.

Routes

Cycle route 2252 passes through Zaječov and into the Brdy Protected Landscape Area. For this cycle route, a less busy variant is described as safer for excursions with children. The hiking route “Za podbrdskými roubenkami” leads to Zaječov.

Landscape

In the immediate vicinity of Zaječov are the Valdek Ruins as well as Beran, Hejlák, and Hřeben mountains. In the vicinity of Zaječov are Hlava mountain and the Church of U Svatého Petra. In the wider regional surroundings of Zaječov are the Týřov Ruins and the Church of Svatý Martin.
