Záhuby was founded in the valley of the Záhubka stream. The village is characterized by scattered development with rural farmsteads and cottages.

Nature

The Křižánky natural monument covers 48.34 hectares and lies at an elevation of 290 to 345 meters above sea level. More than 98 percent of the Křižánky natural monument is covered by forest. The forest bogs of Křižánky retain water when there is an excess of water and release it again during periods of water scarcity. The most valuable area of Křižánky is a wet forest meadow. The Křižánky protected area also includes the source area of the Záhubka stream. Thousands of spring snowflakes bloom in Křižánky in spring; the wetlands are home to alpine newts, common frogs, and grass snakes.

Culture and History

The historic center of Záhuby is one of the village's cultural and historical assets. Záhuby is home to a monument commemorating the victims of the First World War and a monument marking the 300th anniversary of the municipality. In the vicinity of Záhuby, the Křižánky historic site preserves trapezoidal ramparts and traces of sunken structures.

Today's III/27942 road runs along the right bank of the Záhubka stream in the area of Záhuby. Hiking and cycling are designated as low-impact forms of landscape recreation in the municipality.
