Rožnov: Hotels and Accommodations

Rožnov and its associated district of Neznášov extend through a valley with several hills: Chloumek, Prašivka, Bezděk, and Libina. The Jordán stream flows through Rožnov. In the immediate vicinity of Rožnov are Borový Hill [Rožnov], Libiny Hill [Jaroměř – Semonice], Prašivka Hill [Habřina], and Za Kostelem Hill [Velichovky].

History

Neznášov, a district belonging to Rožnov, was first mentioned in 1371. The first written mention of Rožnov dates from July 5, 1387; at that time, Rožnov belonged to the fortress in Rtyně.

Near Neznášov, Bavor of Neznášov founded and built the medieval Rotemberg Castle. During archaeological work at the Rotemberk site in 1978, remains of stone and brick walls as well as ceramics from the 14th and 15th centuries were uncovered. The Hrad Neznášov/Rotemberk archaeological site historically belonged to Neznášov. A relief-like remnant of the fortifications and probably the remains of a round tower have survived there. The Lázně Church is located in the wider regional surroundings of Rožnov.

Getting Around

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Neznášov. Two bus routes intersect in Rožnov: one connects Velichovky with Smiřice, while the other connects Hořiněves with Jaroměř.
