Jasenná: Hotels and Accommodation

Jasenná has a prominent landmark in the Church of St. George. The first historically documented written mention of the church dates from 1352. The church contains a late Gothic polygonal stone baptismal font from 1521. St. George is currently a filial church of the Josefov parish; services are held there regularly.

Culture and History

Jasenná is home to a war memorial dedicated to the victims of the First World War, dating from 1922. The sandstone ensemble featuring a Russian legionnaire and a lion is located in the park in front of Jasenná Primary School.

An iron crucifix dating from 1865–1866 stands by the road near the park in front of the primary school. At the intersection near house no. 249 in Jasenná, there is also a partially sunken sandstone cross known as a reconciliation cross or Cyril-and-Methodius cross.

Nature and Landscape

At 295 m, Balcarák is the highest point in the cadastral area of Jasenná and offers extensive views of the surrounding area as well as the Orlické Mountains and the Krkonoše Mountains. There are a total of 12 ponds and water reservoirs in the cadastral area. The Jasenský Stream flows through all of Jasenná; in some sections it runs through culverts, while in others it flows through open, paved channels.
