History

The T-S 19 Turov infantry bunker is located on the road between Stárkov and Červený Kostelec. Together with T-S 20 “Na Pláni,” it formed the Chlívce defensive line. T-S 20 “Na Pláni” is part of this defensive line at the foot of the Jestřebí Mountains.

The T-S 20 “Na Pláni” infantry bunker houses an exhibition about the Czechoslovak Legionnaires in Italy, the events of 1938 in the Broumovsko region, and radio operator Jiří Potůček of the SILVER A paratrooper group. The T-S 19 Turov infantry bunker has been open to the public since 2009 and features reconstructed details, historical photographs, a sectional model, and a relief map of the area surrounding the bunker.

The Uzávěr Chlívce educational trail provides information about the surviving remains of the Czechoslovak border fortifications from the period before the Second World War in the Hronov area.

At the Obecní lípa, there was an inn called Zur Linde by the interwar period at the latest; it may have existed even earlier.

Nature

The Obecní lípa in Chlívce is a protected broad-leaved lime tree that was placed under protection in 2002. It has a trunk circumference of 382 cm, is 23 m tall, and is estimated to be 170 years old.

The mountains Čáp, Ostaš, Starozámecký vrch, and Supí Hnízdo are located in the vicinity of Chlívce.

Getting around

The T-S 20 “Na Pláni” infantry bunker is located above Chlívce on a green-marked hiking trail, about 100 m from the road to Červený Kostelec.

KČT cycling route No. 4304 runs from Krkavčina via Chlívce and Jívka II to Stárkov, is 8.5 km long, and is marked in white. The section of KČT cycling route No. 4304 near Chlívce offers views of Čáp and the legendary mountain Turov.

Culture

In the wider regional area around Chlívce are Zamek Rogowiec Castle and Ścinawka Górna Castle - Renesansowy dwór. The Opactwo Cysterskie w Krzeszowie monastery and the Zamek Schwarzwaldau ruins are also located there.
