Culture and local history

The Bratrská borovice memorial site is located in the cadastral area of Slemeno and is associated with gatherings of the Bohemian Brethren. According to local tradition, Jan Amos Comenius said farewell there before going into exile. Today, only a fragment of an old pine tree remains of the Bratrská borovice; according to local tradition, the tree is said to have been up to five centuries old.

The Chapel of St. Joseph in Slemeno was consecrated in 1885 and is designated as a building of architectural value.

The Synkov railway halt was established in 1919; the Slemeno railway halt was established in 1936.
