Černý Důl lies at the foot of Černá hora in the valley of the Čistá stream. The origins of the village are connected with the beginnings of ore mining in the Krkonoše Mountains. Above Černý Důl, the Bönischovy boudy viewpoint offers distant views in every season and is suitable for watching sunsets.

Landscape and local history

In the valley around the Čistá stream, the beginnings of iron ore mining are documented as early as 1383. The history of the village is therefore connected both with ore mining and with the landscape at the foot of Černá hora.
