It runs from Krakonošovo náměstí through the town park to the Gablenz Monument and ends near St. John's Chapel and a military cemetery. The educational trail can be extended by an 11 km cycling loop through additional battlefield sites.

The Stachelberg artillery fortress lies between Trutnov and Žacléř above the village of Babí. Trutnov is also associated with festivals held year-round, featuring music, jazz, new circus, theatre and other performing arts events.

Nature and Trails

The Capek Brothers’ Path explores the diverse landscape of the eastern Krkonoše Mountains. It passes mountain meadows, forests and small fortifications from the First Republic. In summer, it is suitable for cycling; in winter, for cross-country skiing.

The Trutnovský sjezd runs mostly on asphalt and paved roads, but also includes unpaved and steep sections. The route passes through Hrádeček Nature Park and by the ruins of Břecštejn Castle before reaching Trutnov. It includes a cable-car ride to Černá hora, followed by a long descent with views of the landscape.

The cycling routes in the Krkonoše Mountains vary in difficulty and are marked with orientation maps and rest areas.

Getting There and Places

A tourist bus route connects Hradec Králové with Trutnov and the eastern Krkonoše Mountains via Malá Úpa and Pomezní Boudy. A central bus route connects the Krkonoše Mountains.
