Einsiedl: Hotels and Accommodation

Mnichov combines Baroque buildings with two circular routes linking history, chapels, springs, and the nature of the Slavkovský les.

Culture and History

The Baroque Church of St. Peter and Paul in Mnichov was built in 1725. The Baroque town hall in Mnichov was built in 1730; it includes a bell tower, stucco decorations, and a pillory.

Educational Trails and Chapels

The Siardova kaple–Mnichov educational trail is a 4.5-kilometre circular route with four information boards. It begins in Mnichov on the road above the church. Its final stop is the former Schöpplův mlýn.

West of Mnichov, in the valley of the Mnichovský potok, the old chapel was a pilgrimage site visited by processions from the surrounding area. The ruins of the former Church of St. John the Baptist near Mnichov, also known as the Siardova Chapel, are freely accessible. The chapel was built in the 12th century by the Saxon knight Siardus (Sieghartd); only ruins overgrown with vegetation remain.

Springs and Nature

Siardův pramen, also called Svatá studna, has attracted people since the 17th century because of its healing water. Siardův pramen near Mnichov received a new roof in 2023.

In the vicinity of Mnichov, visitors can taste mineral water at Grünská kyselka along the Mnichovské hadce educational trail. The five-kilometre circular route has five information boards providing information about the local history and the natural features of this part of the Slavkovský les.
