Culture
The Church of St. Lawrence in Třebeň was built in 1495 and extended in the following years. It is a late Gothic parish church dating from the late 15th century and was sensitively remodeled in the Baroque style between 1758 and 1783.
Nový Drahov, a district of the municipality of Třebeň, is known for its half-timbered farmsteads and has been a village heritage reserve since 1995. Visitors can visit Mr. Werner’s pottery workshop in one of the farmsteads.
A farmstead in the northwestern part of the municipality of Třebeň dates from the first half of the 19th century. It consists of four buildings – a residential house, barn, utility building, and shed – arranged around a rectangular courtyard with a gate.
A three-meter-high Marian column stands behind the railway line in Třebeň. It was completely reconstructed in 1840. Traces of the folk architecture of the Cheb type can be found on the houses with the current numbers 1, 3, 15, and 19.
Nature
Part of the Soos Nature Reserve can be explored along a signposted educational trail with explanatory information. At the entrance to the nature reserve, there is a museum with models of prehistoric reptiles as well as exhibitions on the paleontological and geological history of the Earth and the Cheb region.
Soos is home to a diatomite shield formed from deposits of diatom shells on the bottom of a former salt lake. Part of the Soos animal rescue station is open to the public. In the area open to the public, visitors can learn about the work of the Soos animal rescue station and the animal species it cares for.
