The natural monument Malý Stolec in the cadastral area of Stráž nad Ohří protects a geological formation consisting of a preserved, unquarried basalt cap and partially quarried basalt columns, a block field, dry grassland, and characteristic thermophilous flora and fauna.

In the vicinity of Stráž nad Ohří, the national nature reserve Nebesa protects natural forests, an isolated population of Aesculapian snakes, and Tertiary volcanic veins with columnar jointing. The natural monument Čedičová žíla Boč is also located there: an exposed basalt vein with pronounced columnar jointing and fan-shaped, predominantly hexagonal basalt columns.

The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Stráž nad Ohří was built in 1768 from pilgrims’ alms. Above the valley of the Pekelský potok, Himlštejn Castle was probably built before 1434 to defend the associated domain.

The vicinity of Stráž nad Ohří is also home to Horní Hrad, also known as “Hauenštejn,” a castle and chateau dating from the 13th century.
