Velká Hleďsebe lies about two kilometers west of Mariánské Lázně. Velká Hleďsebe and Klimentov are located in the middle of the Hleďsebská plošina at an average elevation of 550 meters; the plateau is surrounded by forests and open to the south.

Culture and Local History

The Velká Hleďsebe Museum opened on August 30, 2020. It is located at Plzeňská 8, in the rear wing of the Marion building, and contains several hundred exhibits relating to the Farnost V.H. parish, the Czech school, mayors, trades after 1945, the Riviera outdoor swimming pool, local aviation, the T.J. Sokol association, and other local topics.

The Kostel sv. Anny church in Velká Hleďsebe is a pseudo-Romanesque three-aisled basilica with a flat coffered ceiling. Its organ was built in 1891 by Prague organ builder Štěpán Emanuel Petr.

Landscape and Surroundings

The mountains Lysina, Podhorni vrch, Ovčák, and Pfaffenbühl are located in the vicinity of Velká Hleďsebe. The wider surrounding region also includes the Center of Europe monument, Hrad Loket Castle, Novy Dvur Monastery, and Kappl Church.

Trails and Events

The “Naučná stezka Valy a okolí” educational trail is located in the area of Valy and Velká Hleďsebe. The Hleďsebský fesťák was held as a music festival featuring local ensembles for its second edition.
