Jilau: Hotels and accommodations

Jilau – in the center of Jílové u Držkova, the Calvary stands in the garden of house no. 126. This small stone folk-art monument dates from 1821 and is registered as an immovable cultural monument in the list of cultural monuments.

Culture and History

Near Jílové u Držkova are the ruins of Návarov Castle, located at the confluence of the Kamenice and the Zlatník stream on a rocky promontory. Návarov Castle was founded in the second half of the 14th century. The surviving remains include a rectangular core, two moats, and a shield wall with two semicircular bastions.

Nature

A protected large-leaved lime tree is registered in Jílové u Držkova. Its trunk circumference measured 610 centimeters at the specified height.

About 3 kilometers southeast of Jílové u Držkova are the accessible Bozkov Dolomite Caves, which are designated as a national nature monument. The caves contain the largest underground lake in Bohemia.

Paths and Water

Cycle Route 4248 runs directly through Jílové u Držkova. The Lom Jílové u Držkova is a flooded former slate quarry. It is used mainly for swimming and diving; access is unrestricted.

Family Experience

The municipality documented the Jílovský Nebojsa family adventure trail on November 1, 2025, and announced another edition for the following year.
