Near the Líšný railway stop lies the Calvary, a unique example of small-scale sacred sandstone architecture.

Nature

Líšný is part of the Maloskalsko Nature Park, designated in 1997, and has been part of the Český ráj Protected Landscape Area since 2002. The Greenway Jizera cycle path runs through Líšný. The marked cycle route No. 17, also called Greenway Jizera, runs along the Jizera; it can be used by bicycle, inline skates or kick scooter, as well as on foot, and some sections can be navigated by boat.

Culture and History

The originally polychrome Calvary consists of a cross and figures of the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist and dates from 1807. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is a late Baroque chapel consecrated in 1777. A yellow hiking trail from Líšný to Železný Brod runs beside the chapel.

The cast-iron cross in Líšný with the Corpus Christi stands on a stone sandstone pedestal bearing reliefs of the Virgin Mary, Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Joseph; it was created in 1842 at the expense of Josef and Antonín Novotný from Líšný. The monument to the victims of the First World War in Líšný was erected in 1922 and is now located in the municipal cemetery, where it serves as its central landmark.

On Site
