Wiesenthal on the Neisse: Hotels and Accommodations

Marked trails, observation towers and cultural sites form the thematic focus of this article. From Rozhledna Bramberk, the view extends across the Jizerské hory mountains, the Krkonoše massif, Sněžka, Jablonec nad Nisou and the Ještěd ridge.

Trails and Viewpoints

Rozhledna Bramberk can be reached on foot, by bicycle or by car; a red-marked hiking trail leads there from Lučany nad Nisou. From there, a red-marked hiking trail followed by a green-marked hiking trail leads to Rozhledna Slovanka.

The Stezka svobody is a 12.7-kilometre circular trail. It connects the Lípy svobody planted in 2018 in Lučany nad Nisou, Horni Maxov and Jindřichov. Twelve stations are designed with glass cubes, metal bands and quotations on the subject of freedom.

Culture and History

Rozhledna Bramberk was declared a cultural monument in July 2015. Rozhledna Slovanka is the oldest iron observation tower in Bohemia. It has been listed in the register of the National Heritage Institute since 7 July 1999; following its reconstruction, it was ceremonially reopened to the public on 5 July 2000.

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Lučany nad Nisou is a Neo-Renaissance building dating from 1886–1887 and was consecrated in 1889. It has the floor plan of a Greek cross, furnishings from the 19th century and an interior that is continuously being restored.

The Automoto Museum Lučany presents the development of the automobile over a century through numerous models and brands, including original racing cars. The motorcycle exhibition spans models from the early 20th century, through the heyday of European manufacturers, to the later development of Japanese manufacturers; it includes thoroughbred racing machines. Authentic racing machines, Josef Macháček’s quad bike, which has won multiple times, David Pabiška’s first Dakar motorcycle, and original artefacts from this long-distance rally are also on display.

Transport

Lučany nad Nisou can be reached via road I/14 from the direction of Jablonec nad Nisou, as well as by urban public transport, scheduled buses or train.
