Bohatice U Zákup: Hotels and Accommodation

The Mimoň–Zákupy route runs through Bohatice and continues via Kamenický vrch to Zákupy. It follows a blue-marked hiking trail from Mimoň to Zákupy and takes a little over two hours in total.

Nature and Trails

Along the way, the route passes through natural landscapes around Bohatický rybník and the surrounding hills. Bohatický potok carries water away from Bohatický rybník. In the southern part of the cadastral area of Bohatice, there are sandstone rock walls; a small cave is located in a former quarry.

The Ptačí vršek educational trail introduces visitors to the nature of Ptačí vršek near Bohatice. It is approximately 500 metres long, classified as easy, and runs from the southern foot to the northern slope of Ptačí vršek near Bohatice.

The NORD RANČ complex has equestrian facilities and prepares young horses for relaxed recreational riding. Horse rides into the surrounding forests are also available at NORD RANČ.

Culture and History

The historic water reservoir in Bohatice has a brick-built, above-ground section made of fired bricks, with architectural details in the late Art Nouveau style. Remains of letters are preserved above the entrance; they presumably formed the date 1913.

The Immaculata Column in Bohatice is a sandstone column with a statue of the Virgin Mary standing on a globe and a crescent moon. It is considered evidence of the development of North Bohemian Baroque sculpture and is freely accessible. The chapel in Bohatice is a small Baroque building from the end of the 18th century and has been a cultural monument since 1965.

Bohatická Rychta is a listed historic building dating from 1768 and stands on the site of a former fortress from the 13th century. The oldest preserved wooden structure in the half-timbered upper floor of the former Rychta dates from 1604–1605. The former Rychta is considered an unusual local example of Lusatian-Sorbian folk architecture. Bohatická Rychta currently offers space for artistic residencies.

Geographical Location

A trade route from Prague via Žitava towards the Baltic Sea once ran through the area of Bohatice. Road No. 268 passes through Bohatice and connects Česká Lípa with Mimoň and Mnichovo Hradiště. Bohatice can be reached by bus.
