Polevsko is located in the Lužické hory Protected Landscape Area. In winter, a resort for alpine skiing operates here.

Nature

The area around Polevsko offers numerous hiking and cycling trails in summer. The Stezka za polevskými obry leads past remarkable trees and along paths on Polevský vrch; the restored Obří židle is located along the trail and offers views of the area around Polevsko.

Cycling Trails

At the slopes of the ski area, Bikepark Polevsko has six interconnected trails of varying difficulty with a total length of 6 km. A 36 km cycling tour to Sloup Rock Castle leads via Panská skála and Polevsko onward to Nový Bor.

Winter Sports

There are numerous groomed cross-country ski trails in the area around Polevsko in winter; SKI Polevsko provides their winter maintenance and organizes races. Traditional cross-country skiing races take place in Polevsko in winter. Parking is available at the Polevsko ski area and along the access road.

Culture

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Polevsko was built in 1717–1718. It is a High Baroque building designed by Petr Pavel Columbani and is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The glassmakers of Polevsko received guild privileges in 1683. Toward the end of the 17th century, Polevsko was one of the early centers of the glass trade; Czech glass was exported abroad by anonymous merchants or glassworks owners. In the center of Polevsko there is a contiguous ensemble of two-storey timbered houses serving as evidence of the local folk architecture. The property at Polevsko No. 175 is documented as the site of the Klarahütte glassworks and is associated with Karl Mühlbauer, Franz Vater, and the Sklářské družstvo Rudihuť.
