Novy Bor: Hotels and Accommodations

Nový Bor lies in the foothills of the Lusatian Mountains (Lužické hory). The town’s location offers opportunities for summer and winter tourism.

Culture and History

On náměstí Míru stands the late Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, featuring rare Rococo organs. Nový Bor Town Hall is listed as a cultural monument in the Central Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic and is the most important landmark of náměstí Míru. The history of Nový Bor has been closely linked to glass since the end of the 17th century.

Visitors to the Novotný Glass Museum can watch glassmaking masters at work. The collection comprises more than 300 works of art, including the largest collection of glassworks by Bořek Šípek.

At LASVIT – Skleněný Dům, guided tours are offered every weekday Friday at 9:00, 10:00, 13:00, and 14:00; they can be reserved online. The complex includes two historic wooden houses that were already serving glassmakers at the end of the 18th century.
