Chlum U Dubé: Hotels and Accommodations

In Chlum, St. George’s Church and its architectural history date far back: its present form was created in 1739, when Jan Count Kounic commissioned its construction. As early as 1293, the church in Chlum was separated from the parish of Bezděz and provided with its own priest.

Culture and History

St. George’s Church is listed in Chlum under registration number 20434/5-2987 as an immovable cultural monument. In 1863, it received a new tower with a bell frame made of sandstone blocks, replacing an older, dilapidated wooden tower.

Typical rural buildings constructed of wood and stone have been preserved in Chlum and the surrounding area. A stoneware factory formerly operated near the village of Chlum. In the past, apricots were cultivated on a larger scale in Chlum and the surrounding area.

In the immediate vicinity of Maršovice, a red-marked KČT hiking trail runs via the signpost at Maršovické sedlo and continues to Jestřebí. In the immediate vicinity of Maršovice, the red-marked KČT hiking trail leads via Braniborská rokle to Staré Splavy. A bus runs several times a day on the Dubá–Česká Lípa route to Chlum.
