Nový Oldřichov: Hotels and Accommodation
Nový Oldřichov is situated in a high-altitude valley through which the Bystrá stream flows. At the same time, the village lies on the border between the České středohoří and the Lužické hory; both areas are landscape protection areas of the same name.
Landscape and Surroundings
The mountains Malý Buk, Dobrná and Klič are located in the immediate surroundings. The mountain Špičák is also situated near Nový Oldřichov.
Cycling and Walking Trail
The Cyklostezka Varhany is a 17-kilometre-long route for pedestrians and cyclists, separated from motor traffic. Its alignment and elevation profile follow the course of a disused railway line. Novoborsko and the Cyklostezka Varhany are mentioned in connection with tourists and cyclists.
Culture and History
Nový Oldřichov is home to a Baroque sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, which has been protected as a cultural monument since 2000. The Hasičské muzeum Firefighting Museum was founded in 1989 by local firefighters. Its oldest exhibit is a wooden fire engine dating from 1764.
The branch church of Povýšení svatého Kříže in Mistrovice dates from 1844. The single-nave building features Neoclassical forms and has a tower on the west façade.
The wider regional surroundings of Nový Oldřichov include the historic site of Hirniskretzschen, the Postelwitzer Höhe viewpoint, the ruins of Starý Berštejn and the Kaple Nejsvětější Trojice chapel.
