Dubá: Hotels and Accommodation

Dubá is home to the Sušárna chmele, a nationally significant technical monument. At the peak of hop cultivation, six such hop kilns are documented in Dubá; the Sušárna chmele is the only one of them preserved in its original condition. Following the renovation of the floors, the building can be safely opened to visitors. The Prokopská spojka connects the Mlýnská stezka with Dubá via a well-known statue and the hop kiln.

Nature

Dubá lies on the edge of the Kokořínsko–Máchův kraj Protected Landscape Area and is surrounded by a varied landscape of forests and gorges among sandstone rocks. The protected landscape area combines forests, meadows, pastures, rare animal and plant species, cultural monuments, and a unique landscape character. This creates suitable conditions for the development of tourism.

Trails and Excursions

The Hradská stezka begins in Dubá and passes the Čap rock outcrop, continuing via Zámecký vrch and Dřevčice to Chudý hrádek and then into the basin of the Holanské rybníky. Masarykovo náměstí in Dubá is a starting point for excursions.

Townscape and History

The town panorama of Dubá is dominated by a church. The square features the Baroque Sloup Nejsvětější Trojice column. It was erected in 1726 in memory of a plague epidemic and a town fire and bears a sculptural ensemble of the Holy Trinity and the Virgin Mary.

Kostel Nalezení svatého Kříže in Dubá is a protected architectural monument from the 18th century. Construction of the church lasted from 1744 to 1760. It features a unified Rococo interior from around 1755, created in the workshops of František Adámek and Jan Chládek.

Nový Berštejn Château is bordered by an English park with numerous valuable trees and a swimming pool. The Skalní sklípky carved into the rock are an integral part of Dubá’s historic buildings and document the creative use of the natural conditions.
