The Church of St. Michael in Bulovka is one of the municipality’s most important local sights. It is recorded in the Frýdlant land register of 1381.
Culture and History
The cross by the Church of the Archangel Michael in Bulovka stands behind the churchyard enclosure on a sandstone pedestal. It was erected in 1835 from a bequest by Christoph Elstner.
In Dolnà Oldřiš, House No. 3 is an example of a traditional Upper Lusatian house from the Bohemian-German border region. A gravestone of the knight Abraham von Eberhard from 1612 has been preserved in St. Martin’s Church. St. Martin’s Church is used as a permanent exhibition hall and local museum; access is possible by prior arrangement. Regular monthly piano concerts were held there.
The Hornà Mill has been documented since 1591 and was used for grinding grain. Another preserved mill still stands as House No. 39 on the Světlý potok near the Polish border. A water castle is said to have stood next to the former farmyard in Dolnà Oldřiš.
